It's not fun.
Did You Know...
...that one out of every four college students wants vegan meals?
The ARAMARK corporation recently surveyed over 100,000 college students, finding that "fully 24% ... indicated that vegan dishes were important to them versus only 18% for low-carb."
Check out the full press release, dated 19 October 2004, here.
That's why we're encouraging college students to hold open Thanksgiving dinners this year.
Each November, countless college students are unable to go home for Thanksgiving due to distance, cost, or other reasons. We ask you to bring your fellow students in out of the cold and to make them a part of your vegetarian Thanksgiving.
It's easy. Everybody brings a dish to feed 4 to 8 people and -- viola! -- you've got a party! If you're stuck on campus this Thanksgiving, you're probably already putting together a potluck with all your veggie friends. Invite your lonely non-veggie classmates, who might otherwise spend the holiday alone, and introduce them to the delicious vegetarian foods they're been missing out on. Better yet, post some flyers around campus and make your event open to anyone who might be interested.
